      2022 Edition

The Second edition of thiruvizha happened on 17th July 2022 in MCC School premises, Chetpet and it also marked WCCG’s 10th Anniversary. The entire cycling community of Chennai joined hands with other fitness communities, public and businesses to celebrate the beautiful world of cycling. The bicycle themed carnival was inaugurated by Thiru C. Sylendra Babu, DGP of Tamil Nadu, followed by distribution of free cycles to deserving livelihood cyclists under the flagship programme of WCCG- 'Humans of Cycling'. Bharathanatyam and Parai performances were also part of the inauguration. The event saw 2000+ walk-ins across all age groups, 20 plus stalls housing leading cycle stores, bicycle brands, cycle apparel & accessories. Cycling games, cycling themed Rangoli contests, informative workshops, panel talk by eminent cyclists and thought leaders were also part of the event. 100 plus drawings were received from 5 schools within a span of 1 week for the cycling themed drawing contest. Top 25 drawings were exhibited in the event and Top 3 winners were selected based on public voting. Signature wall featuring the logos of Chennai Cycling clubs was filled with wishes and signatures of all the participants. Cycling was the overarching theme of the day and we also invited fitness experts to conduct fitness challenges for participants. Food stalls catered to the crowd all day long.

     2019 EDITION

The first edition of thiruvizha happened on 21st July 2019 in Lady Andal School premises, Chetpet and it also marked WCCG’s 7th Anniversary. The event was inaugurated by Dr. C. Sylendra Babu and it saw a footfall of around 1000+ with a team of 300 plus volunteers. Experts in cycling were invited and cycling workshops were conducted. There was also a session by the City Traffic police on road safety. To make the event fun, cycling challenges like slow cycling, track stand, traditional wear cycling ride, fastest dismantle and assemble, fastest to fix puncture were organised. Stalls were set up by the industry players like Just Buy Cycles, Decathlon, Ciclo cafe, Probikers, Track & Trail, Trek & Ride to give wider options and help people choose the right bicycle and accessories. Apart from this, there were also organic food stalls and other sponsor stalls.
